Uptown Parking Restrictions for June 11 to July 3

The southbound side of Newcomb Place between Willow Street and Drill Road will be closed from Wednesday, June 11 to Sunday, June 22. During this time, four (4) spaces on each side of the fire lane on the northbound side of Newcomb Place along the median and four (4) spaces on the residence hall side will be blocked. Newcomb Place can be accessed from Newcomb Circle off Audubon Street.
 
The northbound side of Newcomb Place from Drill Road to Willow Street will be closed from Monday, June 23 to Thursday, July 3.
 
These closures are due to a Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans project. These dates are subject to change based on weather conditions and any unforeseen issues uncovered during this project.
 
Please pay attention to all signage, barricades, and construction personnel. 

Uptown Update: Parking Restrictions for June 6 to June 20

There are several projects on campus that will impact parking and traffic from Friday, June 6 to Friday, June 20.  

Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8 

  • 5 ParkMobile and 1 motorcycle space on Newcomb Place off Freret Street in front of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library will be blocked for a tractor trailer removing the tent pieces from the Newcomb Quad.
  • Traffic may experience brief delays while the tractor trailer travels between Freret Street and the Newcomb Quad. 

Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 20

  • 3 spaces on Drill Road at McAlister Drive will be blocked on the Berger Family Lawn side.
  • 1 space on Drill Road at McAlister Drive will be blocked on the residence hall side.
  • 6 spaces on McAlister Drive in front of the Oak Lot before Willow Street will be blocked.
  • Please expect brief traffic delays throughout campus as trucks deliver furniture for the Housing and Residence Life Phase 2 project. 

Tuesday, June 10 to Wednesday, June 11

  • 3 spaces in the Zimple Lot will be blocked due to an aerial lift for roof repairs to 7025 Freret Street. 

Please pay attention to all signage, barricades, and Tulane University Police Department personnel.  

Move-Out Parking Restrictions, May 2-9

Student move-out events will limit parking on the uptown campus from Friday, May 2 to Friday May 9. In addition to the scheduled blocked spaces for move out (see list), other spaces may be blocked intermittently on campus for events and projects. Please pay attention to all signage, barricades, and instructions from parking and security personnel. 

 

Friday, May 2 to Friday, May 9

  • Oak Lot will have two spaces blocked off for two Trash to Treasure collection pods. 

Wednesday, May 7 to Friday, May 9

  • Newcomb Place along Warren House and Weatherhead Hall will be blocked off for temporary 30-minute move-out loading zones.
  • Janet Yulman Way will have the spaces in front of Décou-Labat Residences and the tennis courts blocked off for temporary 30-minute move-out loading zones.
  • McAlister Drive on the Butler Hall and Katherine and William Mayer Residences side will be blocked off for temporary 30-minute move-out loading zones. 
     
New Parking Spots Added to the Uptown Campus

Parking Services has opened a few new parking spots on McAlister Place and Janet Yulman Way to mitigate issues due to the closure of the Claiborne Lot in February. We will notify the Tulane community when construction projects are completed and more parking spaces open on the uptown campus. 

Crawfest Parking and Traffic Restrictions on March 31 to April 7

Several upcoming events will impact parking from Monday, March 31 to Monday, April 7. On Saturday, April 5, Tulane University will host Crawfest on the uptown campus. Due to the number of campus visitors, we anticipate an increase in traffic on and around the uptown campus.

Uptown campus parking and traffic will be impacted to support Crawfest and other upcoming events, as follows:

Monday, March 31 to Tuesday, April 1 

  • Six (6) spaces on Drill Road closest to McAlister Drive along the Berger Family Lawn will be blocked. 
    Tuesday, April 1 
  • Five (5) spaces on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn close to the Malkin Sacks Commons will be blocked.
  • Four (4) spaces on Newcomb Place along the middle of Newcomb Quad will be blocked. 

Wednesday, April 2 

  • Five (5) spaces on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn close to the Malkin Sacks Commons will be blocked.
  • Five (5) spaces on Cowen Circle at the entrance will be blocked. 

Thursday, April 3 through Friday, April 4 

  • All parking spaces on Drill Road will be blocked. 

Thursday, April 3 through Sunday, April 6 

  • Seven (7) spaces on Newcomb Place along the Newcomb Quad will be blocked. 
  • All spaces on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn will be blocked. 

Friday, April 4 starting at 10 p.m. through Saturday, April 5 

  • Newcomb Place at Willow Street, Newcomb Place at Freret Street, Drill Road, McAlister Drive, and Newcomb Circle will be closed to parking and traffic. 

Monday, April 7 

  • Five (5) spaces on Newcomb Place along the middle of Newcomb Quad will be blocked. 
  • Eight (8) spaces on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn close to the Malkin Sacks Commons will be blocked.
  • Three (3) spaces on Law Road between F. Edward Hebert Hall and Robert C. Cudd Hall along the fence line will be blocked.
