The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans will conduct paving work in the areas listed below. Access in the area will generally be maintained during the project. However, certain construction activities may require temporary lane restrictions. Please allow extra time when traveling through  work zones.

As shared by the Office Of Emergency Preparedness and Response: The area impacted Uptown Closures Through May 13 by the water main break near the intersection of Willow and Audubon Streets will remain closed through tomorrow, Friday, March 13. 

The following areas will be inaccessible:

  • Willow Street between Broadway Street and Audubon Boulevard
  • The 1300 to 1400 blocks of Audubon Street
  • The 7100 block of Plum Street between Audubon Street and Broadway Street

 

Please avoid these areas.

There are several events and projects coming up that will impact parking and traffic on the Tulane University uptown campus from Monday, March 2 to Thursday, March 19.    

Currently, there is facilities work being done in the academic quad. Please expect a partial closure of Law Road to parking and traffic due to a facilities issue nearby on Tuesday, March 3 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Vehicles will be assisted to exit through the entrance at St. Charles Avenue. Please pay attention to all cones, signs, and personnel.    

Tulane University will host their annual New Orleans Book Festival Thursday, March 12 to Sunday, March 15. Due to the number of campus visitors, we anticipate an increase in traffic on and around the uptown campus. 

Uptown campus parking will be impacted as follows:  

Now Through Thursday, March 19 

Six parking spaces on Drill Road at the corner of McAlister Drive along the Berger Family Lawn will be blocked. 

Monday, March 2 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Newcomb Circle at Newcomb Hall will be closed to parking and traffic. 

Wednesday, March 4 to Friday, March 6

Two spaces on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn closest to the Malkin Sacks Commons will be blocked. 

Friday, March 6 

One space on Engineering Road behind Richardson Building will be blocked. 

Monday, March 9 

One space in Zimple Lot will be blocked. 

Monday, March 9 to Saturday, March 14  

Parking spaces on Newcomb Place along Berger Family Lawn will be blocked. 

Wednesday, March 11 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, March 15 

  • Oak Lot will be closed. Faculty will continue to be allowed to park in the Oak Lot until 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • Audubon Lot will be closed. 

Thursday, March 12 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, March 14 

Weinmann Road will be blocked. Permit holders with a state-issued ADA placard/license plate will be provided access to park in an ADA space, depending on availability. 

Friday, March 13 at 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. 

Access to campus at Newcomb Place and Willow Street will be by Splash Card only for faculty and staff. 

Friday, March 13  

50 parking spaces on the sixth floor of the Diboll Parking Garage will be blocked. 

Saturday, March 14 

The sixth floor of the Diboll Garage will be restricted to baseball and Book Fest. 

Monday, March 16 to Thursday, March 19 

Two spaces on Newcomb Place at Drill Road along the Berger Family Lawn will be blocked.  

Tuesday, March 17 at 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. 

Newcomb Circle at Newcomb Hall will be closed. 

Wednesday, March 18 

  • One space on Newcomb Place along the Berger Family Lawn closest to the Malkin Sacks Commons will be blocked.
  • One space in the Zimple Lot will be blocked.

Parking Services is happy to announce that the Claiborne Lot will re-open for parking on Wednesday, Feb. 25. During the closure of this area, Claiborne Lot underwent renovations and the Indoor Practice Facility for sports teams was constructed.
 
Claiborne Lot is a Red Zone parking location. This means the lot requires a commuter, faculty, or staff permit for parking on Mondays through Fridays at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 
Please pay attention to posted signs throughout the area, especially reserved spaces.

New student move-in for Spring 2026 will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 7. In an effort to accommodate the students who will be moving onto campus, parking and traffic will be impacted as follows:

Tuesday, Jan. 6 to Wednesday, Jan. 7

  • All parking spaces on McAlister Drive in front of Butler House and Katherine and William Mayer Residences will be blocked.
  • All parking spaces on Drill Road along the residence hall side will be blocked. 

Wednesday, Jan. 7

  •  Janet Yulman Way will be closed.
  • Access to campus at Newcomb Place and Willow Street will be by Splash Card only for faculty and staff.
  • Ben Weiner Drive will be one-way for traffic from Claiborne Avenue to the Diboll Garage entrance.

Please plan accordingly and pay attention to all signs and personnel.
