America Recycles Day Events

Millions of Americans work together every year on November 15th to observe America Recycles Day. In addition to reducing your individual consumption and reusing materials, recycling is a direct path to reducing your environmental footprint. Recycling returns materials into production streams to be reprocessed into useful items. The process reduces waste, conserves resources, and saves energy associated with manufacturing products. "America Recycles Day isn’t just a one-day thing," says Keep America Beautiful, "it’s a chance to look at your recycling habits and make some awesome changes that will last."

Join the Office of Sustainability in marking this year's America Recycles Day by learning more about recycling or by teaching others to recycle. Check out the Tulane Office of Sustainability Instagram @greentulane to learn more.

Movie Night and Networking

Join the Office of Sustainability on Tuesday, November 11 for a movie night! We will be showing the film Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch at 6:30 in the Taylor Center, which is on the 4th floor of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. There will be light refreshments and the opportunity to network with other students.

Tailgating at Homecoming

Visit the Office of Sustainability at the tailgate before the Florida Atlantic game on November 15 to learn more about our work. We will have Grounds Krewe as a special guest, sharing their work to reduce waste at Mardi Gras with sustainable throws, recycling during parades, and more! Find us under the green and white Campus Services tent. Please remember to tailgate sustainably by choosing to reuse when possible, selecting recyclable items, and recycling your aluminum cans and plastics #1 and #2 during the event.
