Litter Sweep Results

Working together, 240 Tulane and Loyola students, staff, faculty, and community members worked together to remove 379 pounds of litter from the Carrolton neighborhood and collect 16 pounds of recycling! Participants enjoyed music from the Tulane Brass Band and learned from tabling organizations Energy Smart, the Louisiana Bucket Brigade, Reencle Inc., the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, Bike Easy, the Pontchartrain Conservancy, Common Ground Relief, SOUL NOLA, Greening NOLA, and the Tulane Office of Sustainability. We'd like to thank our supporters Barnes & Noble, Loyola Dining, Tulane Hospitality, and PJ's Coffee.

Mardi Gras Cup Drive

To reduce waste from single-use cups during the event, Tulane and Loyola collected over 700 Mardi Gras cups and provided them to participants to enjoy their iced coffee and snoballs. Special thanks to the students in R.K. Smith Middle School's Beta Club who donated over 200 cups in just 4 days!
