Winter Swap & Social

The Office of Sustainability cordially invites faculty and staff to the third office supply and book swap social at the Pedersen Lobby of the Lavin-Bernick Center this year on Monday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon. The Swap & Social aims to collect and redistribute unwanted new and gently used office supplies and books for reuse rather than generate new purchases or contribute to the landfill. Please enjoy light refreshments, catch up with colleagues, learn about campus sustainability, and leave with supplies you need.

What to Bring & Items You’ll Find: Easily carried office supplies, for instance, three-ring binders, paper, notepads, sticky notes, pens, pencils, markers, folders, desk organizers, and general interest books.
PLEASE NOTE: This swap is not equipped to handle furniture, electronics, and other equipment tracked by Property Management.
Items Left Behind: The items leftover will be donated to STEM Library Lab’s Teacher Free-Store. STEM Library will make these items available to k-12 instructors at no cost. Books not taken by the STEM Library will be donated to Better World Books.

New this year: Grounds Krewe will be on hand with a sustainable Mardi Gras throw assembly workshop and news on the 2026 Recycle Dat Mardi Gras initiative. Our colleagues in Dining will lead short tours highlighting sustainability initiatives in place in the LBC and The Commons
