The end of the semester is quickly approaching and now is the time to start thinking about move-out! Students living on campus can move out sustainably by planning ahead and donating unwanted items.
Tulane Trash to Treasure Move-out Collections
Tulane Trash to Treasure collects donations of furniture, clothing, school supplies, non-perishable food, and other goods during campus move-out. Donations are sorted and channeled to community partners or sold to students during the annual move-in sale. Proceeds from the sale are donated to local non-profit organizations.
Working together with the Center for Public Service and the Office of Sustainability, Trash to Treasure diverted 35,000 pounds of goods from the landfill last year. For the 2026 campus move-out initiative, the coalition aims to double diversions past 70,000 pounds.
