Comprising over 500 acres of rural land located south of the lower coast of Algiers in Plaquemines Parish, the F. Edward Hebert Center is home to the Tulane University Biodiversity Research Department. The grounds also comprise part of the Lower Coast Field Station, a program of the Tulane ByWater Institute. The center also hosts several buildings that are storage units for different university departments. Facilities Services runs the grounds and general maintenance shops at the Hebert Center along with the cabinetry shop and its skilled finish carpenters that design and assemble custom order cabinets for university offices, laboratories, and classrooms.
