Technology Connection

Technology Connection has closed to regular walk-in traffic. Please email tcorders@tulane.edu to set an appointment for sales or repairs.

You may also visit our website and online order form. Students who have left New Orleans with repair needs may email tcorders@tulane.edu with details. We will work to accommodate many physical repairs with a “mail/ship in” repair program as we recognize Apple stores in your area are closed.

Beginning Tuesday, March 24, all sales and support will move online.

FedEx Office

As of 5pm on Friday, March 27, FedEx has closed its campus location. The two nearest locations are:

STUDENT SERVICES

Are Dining Services locations still open?

Starting Sunday, March 15, only the following dining locations will be open: Dining Room at the Commons, Provisions, PJ's Willow, and the School of Medicine Food Court. All other dining locations are closed until further notice. To view the current hours of operation, scroll to the top of this page.

What safety changes has Dining Services implemented in their locations?

To prevent contamination, Dining Services has switched to full-service, to-go dining in the Dining Room at the Commons. The reusable cup program at PJ’s Coffee locations and the reusable OZZI container program have both been suspended. For more detailed information, click here.

Will my dining plan be refunded if I am choosing to leave New Orleans?

The university has made an announcement regarding room and board rebates. Click here for more information.

Will my downtown parking permit be refunded if I no longer need it?

Students with downtown contracts may request a cancellation by completing this form or visiting Campus Services, Tidewater 803. Prox cards will have to be returned to Campus Services. If you have already left campus, a Campus Services staff member can provide instructions for returning your prox card by mail. 

Will my uptown parking permit be refunded if I no longer need it?

Students with uptown permits or Loyola Community Permit holders may request a refund by visiting Campus Services, Lavin-Bernick Center Suite 107, or calling (504) 865-5441. We do not save credit card information, so please have your credit card available for the refund.

Is Tulane Shuttles & Transportation still operating?

Beginning Friday, March 20, transportation will move solely to requests by phone to Tulane buildings, grocery stores, pharmacies, and MSY airport. For the latest Shuttles & Transportation updates, click here.

If I leave campus, can I leave my car until I return?

Yes, students who have parking permits will be able to leave their vehicles in Diboll Garage until they return to campus.

Can I submit a Service Wave request during this time?

Yes, please continue to submit all facilities requests through Service Wave at servicewave.tulane.edu. Please note that we are operating with fewer staff than usual, so requests may take longer to assign and resolve. If you have questions about an outstanding Service Wave request, please click here and provide your ticket number.

If I leave New Orleans, how can I return my rental textbooks at the end of the semester?

Students who remain in New Orleans will be able to return their books in person as long as the university remains open. Students who have left New Orleans can initiate a return online and receive a prepaid shipping label to ship their books back at the end of the semester. To initiate an online return, go to tulane.bncollege.com, click “Textbooks,” click “Textbook Rentals,” click “Rental Return,” and select “Create Your Rental Return.” Please note that you will need your order number to print the shipping label, which can be found in the confirmation email from your online order OR any of your in-store rental reminder emails. Books must be postmarked before the end of the day on your due date. 

If I remain on campus, will I still be able to receive my mail?

The LBC lockers will be serviced regularly, and the Warren pick-up counter will be open regular hours,10am-3pm Monday through Friday. If you have immediate needs for mail pick-up outside of those hours, plese email mailbox@tulane.edu.

If I leave campus, will I still be able to receive my mail?

We encourage you to pick up any items from the LBC lockers and Warren pick-up before you leave campus. 

Mail Forwarding: Before leaving campus, please complete this mail forwarding form. All USPS mail and most USPS packages will be forwarded automatically at no additional charge. USPS forwarding will continue until you return to campus. Mail forwarding will begin Monday, March 23, 2020. If your forwarding address changes at any time, please complete a new form.

We strongly recommend that you update your address in your Amazon account and with any other online retailers.

Mail Services will forward non-USPS packages (UPS, FedEx, Amazon Direct, DHL) that arrive after you leave at no additional cost. Please contact us at mailbox@tulane.edu to forward those items or return to sender.

 

FACULTY & STAFF SERVICES

If you do not wish to resume your parking contract when you return to work, your prox card will have to be returned to Campus Services. If you have already left campus, a Campus Services staff member can provide instructions for returning your prox card by mail. 
  • Tidewater guest permits are billed at the end of each month. If a department wishes to cancel a guest parking request, please email parking@tulane.edu so that you will not be billed. 
  • LaSalle and Saratoga guest validations are valid for one year from date of purchase. We do not anticipate needing to refund passes.
Will my uptown parking permit be refunded if I no longer need it?
  • Faculty & staff with uptown permits or Loyola Community Permit holders may request a cancellation by completing this form. Once the university resumes normal operations, you will need to return your permit within 72 business hours. If you do not return your permit within the time allotted, we will resume parking deductions from your paycheck.
  • Departments or visitors who have purchased guest permits online may call Campus Services to request a refund at (504) 865-5441.
  • Scratch-off visitor permits are valid for three years. We do not anticipate needing to refund visit passes.
  • If a rope-off was requested for a special event, the department will be refunded via IT.

Downtown: Mail is still being distributed to mailboxes in the Medical School, Murphy, and tidewater.

GRAD FEST & COMMENCEMENT

I am a graduating student. How should I purchase my regalia, Tulane ring, announcements, and diploma frame?

Click here to view the Grad Fest website, which includes online ordering links and frequently asked questions. Regalia orders placed by April 30 are scheduled to be received by May 16. No late fee will be assessed. Once the new Commencement date is announced, we will update our pages with ordering deadlines.

Has Commencement been canceled? If it is, can I get a refund on my regalia?

On Thursday, April 2, an announcement was made by President Fitts regarding Commencement. A virtual degree conferral celebration will be held on Saturday, May 16, the original date of Commencement. An in-person ceremony will be planned at a later date. For more information, please click here. If students are unable to attend the in-person ceremony and wish to return their regalia, procedures for returns will be announced once the Tulane bookstore reopens. If you have specific questions about regalia returns, please email SM569@bncollege.com.

 

CHILDCARE FACILITIES

Are there plans to close Newcomb Children’s Center? If the center closes or we choose to not send our child, will our tuition be refunded?

On Friday, March 13, we made the decision to close NCC beginning Monday, March 16. At this time, we do not have an estimated date of reopening, as we wish to continue to assess the situation before making any firm opening decision. We plan to suspend tuition during the time that the Center is closed. NCC families received this information on Friday evening. If you are an NCC parent who did not receive the announcement, please email Julie Smith-Price, the Center Director at jsmithpr@tulane.edu.

Are there plans to close Kidopolis? If the center closes or we choose to not send our child, will our tuition be refunded?

Kidopolis will be closed starting Wednesday, March 25. For more information, please contact Ashley Byrd, the Center Director at Ashley.byrd@brighthorizons.com.
